Topics covered included new plastic materials, specifying material properties, using GE's web tools to select plastics, plastic part design, and converting fabricated metal parts to molded plastic parts.

09/15/2005 - Upgrade Primary CAD/CAE/FEA System

DeepSoft, LLC., recently upgraded the primary CAE system to 0.75 Terabyte of harddisk space and 4 Gigabytes of RAM. This is one of four CAD/CAE/FEA networked engineering work stations which are used for Finite Element Analysis, mechanical design with 3D solid modelers, Software Engineering, and graphics arts publications.

09/01/2005 - Enhance Footprint Application for Toll Brothers & Eastern States Engineering

DeepSoft, LLC., has previously developed the Footprint Application for Toll Brothers, Inc., a major home builder, and Eastern States Engineering, a Civil Engineering firm.  This custom AutoCAD software application uses the C++ ObjectARX API to automate repetitive design tasks in the home building industry. New Land Desktop capabilities will be added to this application via the ActiveX API.

06/15/2005 - Upgrade Desktop Publishing & Photographic Image Processing Capabilities

DeepSoft, LLC. purchased ColorVision's Spyder2Pro Suite which includes the Spyder2 CRT/LCD colorimeter for calibrating computer monitors, ProfilerPro which uses the ColorSavvy ColorMouse their printer spectrocolorimeter, as well as related image processing software. These tools are used to calibrate the color work space of computer monitors, flat bed scanners, film scanners, digital cameras, digital color printers, and image processing software such as Adobe PhotoShop and Corel Ventura Publisher. We have also added the Konica Minolta Dimage Scan Elite 5400 II which is a 5400 dpi film scanner. These tools are used to create, edit, print, and color calibrate large format color images for the Hewlett Packard DesignJet 800 large format printer.

04/25/2005 - Modal & Impact FEA of a Decontamination Unit

Battelle Memorial Institute via their Eastern Science & Technology Center have retained DeepSoft, LLC. to provide a detailed Finite Element Analysis (FEA) of the portable ultrasonic cleaner that they designed for the US Army. This work involved simplifying the clients original SolidWorks design into a form suitable for structural analysis, and converting this simplified 3D solid model geometry into a format compatible with the Algor FEA software. Following that a modal dynamic analysis and a shock impact stress analysis were conducted.

03/25/2005 - Fatigue Wizard & Algor Nonlinear FEA Capability Added

DeepSoft, LLC. purchased Fatigue Wizard, a specialized FEA post-processor which facilitates extensive fatigue calculations based on FEA model results.  Fatigue Wizard supports both the Algor and NE Nastran FEA software. Also added nonlinear capability to the Algor FEA software.

12/24/2004 - NEI Nastran & Femap Capability Added

DeepSoft, LLC. has recently purchased the Nastran FEA modeler from Noran Engineering, Inc. of Westminster, CA. This FEA tool will add the industry standard Nastran FEA solver as well as the Femap pre and post-processor to our suite of engineering tools. This tool will add non-linear, advanced dynamics such as drop test simulation, and composite materials capabilities to our already powerful Algor FEA capabilities. The principal has previously worked with NEI Nastran and Femap.

12/24/2004 - SolidWorks Solid Modeler Added

DeepSoft, LLC. has recently purchased the SolidWorks solid modeler. This tool will allow working directly with customers who use this tool as their primary design tool without any model translation. Currently we use Autodesk Inventor which is already a very powerful 3D solid modeler. SolidWorks will allow us to work on more complex 3D surfaces.
